On Monday, the Irish Times reports that the COVID-19 outbreak has been blamed on a group of individuals who have been working together in an effort to make it easier for people to pay their bills and earn energy through cooperatives.
The report also says that there is a “clear need” for people who want to join a cooperative to get involved.
The report goes on to say that “Cooperative membership, which can include financial, material and human resources, is a key driver of energy efficiency in the community.”
In a statement to the Irish Independent, a spokesperson for the cooperative said:We are aware of the Irish newspaper’s report on the COVE-19 epidemic.
We are currently gathering information on the extent of the outbreak and will respond to any questions you may have.
We are committed to ensuring that our people receive the support they need and the opportunity to achieve their full potential through working together.
We have a number of cooperative energy programs in operation across the country and are in discussions with the Irish government about a joint COVID response program.
We will be launching a further information and engagement program for our members later this month.
