Conservative groups have taken aim at the federal health care law, saying it will only increase costs for states and force them to spend less on health care.
In a letter to President Donald Trump, the Americans for Prosperity and Americans for Limited Government have asked the president to extend Medicaid expansion through 2021 and allow states to expand the program by 2026.
The groups said the law was “the largest single expansion of Medicaid funding in American history” and “could have catastrophic consequences for millions of Americans who have depended on it for years.”
Trump has said the program will cost the government billions of dollars.
